The attorneys frequently utilize their expertise in matters and projects that do not require the knowledge and fees associated with an attorney. Karen’s primary focus is in the areas of litigation, estate planning & real estate. In the Firm’s litigation practice, she assists with drafting civil pleadings, discovery & document production, fact development and trial preparation. Karen also assists with all aspects of the Firm’s real estate practice, including the preparation of purchase agreements, title & lender documents. Regarding estate planning & administration, Karen assists the attorneys with the preparation of estate planning instruments, as well as the complete administration of a decedent’s estate.
Karen received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice studies from Berkeley College in White Plains, New York. Prior to joining Medico and Associates, Karen worked at a prestigious law firm in New York, where she focused her talents in the areas of Federal and State Civil Rights, Criminal Defense, Immigration, and Family Law.
Karen is fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish.
Mariela Diaz became the most recent addition to the Firm in 2018. Mariela provides direct support to the attorneys in all aspects of file management in the areas of estate planning and litigation, including assistance in the preparation of court documents, estate planning & administration instruments and communicating with clients and related parties. Prior to joining Medico & Associates she was employed with the Royal Bank of Scotland and brings to our firm a broad range of experience.
